Notes
Beech trees often retain pale straw colored leaves throughout the winter. Beechnuts are eaten by a variety of wildlife. The trunks of beech trees are often partially hollow creating homes for animals. At Inniswood, hollow beech trunks are used as nesting sites by the resident barred owls.
